He’s Gone

// January 20th, 2009 // No Comments » // Adventure and News

Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, you know better but I know him.
Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head.

Now he’s gone, now he’s gone, Lord he’s gone, he’s gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin’ down the track
He’s gone, gone, nothin’s gonna bring him back…He’s gone.

Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside.
Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

Now he’s gone, now he’s gone Lord he’s gone, he’s gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin’ down the track
He’s gone, gone, nothin’s gonna bring him back…He’s gone.

Goin’ where the wind don’t blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.
Lost one round but the price wasn’t anything,
A knife in the back and more of the same.

Same old, rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb,
You know better but I know him.
Like I told you, what I said,
Steal your face right off your head.

Now he’s gone, now he’s gone Lord he’s gone, he’s gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin’ down the track
He’s gone, gone, nothin’s gonna bring him back…He’s gone.

Ooh, nothin’s gonna bring him back.

What a night

Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside
And it is ragin’.
It’ll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin’.
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin’.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’.

Saw this on Joel’s blog today . First of all, the people who came up with a US flag doormat need to be beaten with their own shoes. Secondly, this just goes to show how little thinking George actually does. I’ll concede that this might be a PhotoShopped image, but, that doesn’t take away from the fact that some moron designed a doormat with the US flag on it!

Support the Danish

…in the face of tyrannical Muslim fanaticism, to show solidarity that the rest of the world will not be intimidated by these idealogues. I can’t think of any Danish products that I consume that aren’t preceded by the word cheese but I should buy something.

This sign was posted in a Tube station in London yesterday in the wake of the spate of bombings in the past few weeks. If you recall, a “foreign-looking” man with a rucksack was shot five times and killed by armed police last week as he was running away from them. It later turns out that the man was in no way involved with any terrorism.

Terrorism of all kinds must be stopped at it’s source, but I must ask you, is this sign really helping any?
